Vestron Video collector's Series of Wishmaster on Blu-ray from @lionsgateuk.
Review...
Wishmaster is a 1997 horror film directed by special effects make-up artist Robert Kurtzman and is executive produced by Nightmare on Elm Street's Wes Craven. The film is about a demonic creature known as the Djinn, it's like a genie on meth! who is played by the very talented Andrew Divoff. The djinn grants the person three wishes by doing this it summons the unholy legions of the Djinn so they will be freed upon the earth. but be careful what you wish for. I can't believe the actor who played the djinn (Andrew Divoff) only ever did the first two Wishmaster movies. Let's face it 3 & 4 sucked anyway and without Andrew Divoff sucked even more. I thought the djinn would have become a big household name like Jason Voorhess or Freddy Krueger etc... But he's not talked about as much. Speaking of Freddy and Jason, this film was one of the original Expendables of Horror, with a cast of icons including Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Kane Hodder, Ted Raimi and it's narrated by Angus Scrimm (Phantasm) and not forgetting Reggie Bannister (Phantasm) who plays the Pharmacist guy. The practical effects are amazing in this movie, with more and more movies using CGI, it was a nice treat to watch something like this. This is the best the film as ever looked and comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track, the USA release just as a DTS-HD MA 2.0 track. The special features will satisfy even the most hardcore horror fan, including 2 Commentaries, the making of Wishmaster, behind the scenes and more! Like the USA counterpart this is region B locked and comes with English subtitles for the hearing impaired.

The_Barn_Movie on Blu-ray from www.screamteamreleasing.com
-
Review...
The Barn is a 2016 indie horror movie written and directed by Justin M. Seaman. One Halloween night in 1989 two teenage friends Sam and Josh end up accidentally awakening evil inside a old barn. The two friends need to find a way to vanquish the creatures they have unleashed. The movie is a throwback to the 80s horror films which we loved watching growing up as kids. They even aged the movie to have a 80s feel with a hint of fuzziness and some white popping specks thrown in. If this film was a food, it would be a big bloody meaty burger with plenty of extra cheese. Making it the perfect film to watch on Halloween night with a beer. You either love this movie or hate it, just go check it out and make your own mind up. This release is region free and comes with quite a few extras including a Commentary, documentary on the film, deleted scenes and more! The Barn cover as a reversible sleeve, so you can see the awesome 80s inspired artwork done by Marc Schoenbach and Graham Humphreys. There's only Spanish subtitles for some reason.

What We Do In The Shadows New release on Blu-ray from @MidnightFactoryit.
Review...
What We Do in the Shadows is a 2014 New Zealand mockumentary horror comedy written, directed by, and starring Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi with Jonathan Brugh. The movie is about 3 vampire flatmates, Viago, Deacon, and Vladislav, A documentary crew films the vampires everyday struggles of their modern life, like simple things like paying the rent, who's turn is it to do the house work and trying to get into nightclubs to get their groove on. I knew about this film a couple of years and never got around to watching it, untill now. I bloody loved it! If you are a fan of mockumentary movies this is definitely one of the best out there! The movie is funny, very clever and dark, a great peace of film making. Love vampires and mockumentary's? This film is a match made in Hell! There's no Blu-ray extras only a trailer to film. The movie plays in Italian and English with only Italian subtitles.

Halloween on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment
John Carpenter's Halloween celebrates it's 40th Anniversary in October so this is the best time to revised this timeless horror classic. Who knew a low budget slasher with a Captain Kirk mask would became one of the most iconic horror movies of all time? Michael Myers is the original silent killer who put fear in man, woman and child back in 1978. Some people forget Halloween isn't really a gory film it's all about the fear and suspense, the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you terrified to watch it with someone or to even watch it alone. There's not that many horror movies that can still scare you 40 years later but John Carpenter's Halloween still gives you goosebumps today. With a creepy score composed by John Carpenter himself makes the movie even more disturbing to watch. This is a older release from Umbrella Entertainment so doesn't have a reversible cover, but I'm loving the age affect on the front cover. The blu-ray is a region free release and looks and sounds great in HD but there are some black specks and horizontal lines appearing throughout the movie but nothing to worry about. The extras are nearly the same as the American release, so you get that awesome 87 minute documentary untitled, "Halloween: A Cut Above the Rest," fans of Halloween should definitely check it out, if you haven't seen it before. The documentary Includes interviews with the producers, stars and director John Carpenter. Sadly there are no English subtitles for the hearing impaired. Do you believe in the boogyman? Yes I do, his name is Michael Myers.

*Audio commentary with writer/director John carpenter & producer Debra Hill.

.Todd and the Book of Pure Evil: The End of the End (Limited 3 disc Edition) from @ravenbannerentertainment.
Review...
I found out about season 1&2 of Todd and the Book of Pure Evil in December of last year and became an instant fan! If you mix episodes of "Goosebumps" grab the book of "The Evil Dead" and throw in the kids from "Scooby Doo" and mix it in a "Heavy Metal" pot, then you've got Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. Sadly Space the company who aired the show announced in April 2012 that they would not renew it for a 3rd season and left fans hanging by their necks! Does Atticus escape the book of pure evil? What happened to Hannah? where did the book of pure evil go? and is Todd really the pure evil one? So the showrunners launched an Indiegogo campaign and collecting over $120,000 to make a full length animated film with the original cast from the cult TV show to conclude the series. The film was picked up by Raven Banner Entertainment and released to the die hard fans. So after all these years fans of Todd and the Book of Pure Evil can finally know what happened to the kids from Crowley high and final see the conclusion, LOSER! If you have never seen the series before to really appreciate the movie you should go and watch the TV show first. Todd and the Book of Pure Evil: End of the End is beautifully animated and fans of TATBOPE should definitely pickup a copy. The limited edition set contains a region free Blu-ray and DVD of the movie, CD soundtrack of the movie and a booklet of the Director and Animators image notes, commentaries by the directors and producers and more!

The Blob on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
The Blob (1988) is a sci-fi horror remake of the 1958 movie of the same name. The movie is Written and Directed by Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors) and Co-Written with Frank Darabont (The Mist) and stars Kevin Dillon (Tales from the Crypt) and Shawnee Smith (Saw II) A Meteorite from outer space crashes near Arborville, California releasing a alien entity. The slime like substance consumes everything in it's Blobby path getting bigger and bigger each time he feeds on it's victims. As remakes go, this is definitely better than the original staring Steve McQueen. The 80s spawned a couple of great remakes including John Carpenter's The Thing and David Cronenberg's The Fly, this can also be said about this remake of The Blob, It's just a fun 80s cheesy sci-fi horror flick with great special effects. Twilight Time did release this movie on Blu-ray but it was only limited to 5000 and now long OOP and very expensive to own. Thanks to Umbrella Entertainment we can finally enjoy this Blobby goodness in HD again and for an affordable price too.
This is a region free release, so it can be played anywhere in the galaxy. The movie sounds and looks great in HD and comes with English subtitles for the hearing impaired, if you are anything like me, I watch all my films with the subtitles on. The cover is reversible so you don't have to see the big Australian classification rating. Fans of this film should definitely purchase this edition, ready for 30th Anniversary in August. The Blob is now available on DVD and Blu-ray from www.umbrellaent.com.au

Body Melt on Blu ray from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
Body Melt is a 1993 Australian comic horror film directed by Philip Brophy and written by Rod Bishop and Philip Brophy. The residents of Pebbles Court in the Melbourne suburb of Homesville, are being unknowingly used as lab rats, the residents think they are taking a healthy New vitamin which they think it makes them healthy but really the supplement causes they're body to melt like a candle. If you like Peter Jackson's early films like "Bad Taste" or "Braindead aka Dead Alive" you will love this film. It's weird, gory and very funny, it's everything I love in a horror movie and more! This is another region free release from the guys down under and is remastered in high Def from a brand New 4K restoration, it's an excellent Blu-ray transfer with crisp and clear sound.
The film does come with English subtitles for the hearing impaired, there's a reversible trippy psychedelic cover done by the very talented artist @SimonSherry and you don't have to see the big Australian classification rating. I just hope one day Umbrella Entertainment could get the rights to Braindead or Bad Taste, I think they would be a great company to release these movies on BD.

Fair Game on Blu-ray New from Umbrella Entertainment

Review...
Fair Game is a 1986 Australian action thriller Directed by Mario Andreacchio and written by Rob George. A young woman named Jessica ( Cassandra Delaney) runs a wildlife sanctuary in the Australian Outback. One day she is approached by three Kangaroo hunters who are bored of hunting and want to show off their little Joey's down under and have some fun with Jessica (Cassandra Delaney).
This is definitely not my kind of movie but if you like films like "I Spit on Your Grave" or "The Last House on the Left" this film is definitely for you. There is an all New transfer from a newly restored 2K master, so you know the quality of the picture and sound is going to be ripper! The release is region free with English subtitles for the hearing impaired, the artwork is by @SimonSherry and reminds me of the old Mad Max movies. Of course the cover is receivable so you don't have to see the Australian age rating. Not forgetting the tons of extras this release has. A commentary by the Director and Writer of Fair Game, behind the scenes, image gallery and more!
Great release but not my cuppa.

Visitors on DVD New from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review
Directed by Richard Franklin (Psycho II) and written by Everett De Roche (Razorback) Visitors is a Australian thriller starring Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black, The Crazies) Susannah York (Superman, The Awakening) Ray Barret (The Troubleshooters, Thunderbirds) and Domenic Purcell (Prison Break, Legends of Tomorrow) The film is about Georgia Perry (Radha Mitchell) a young woman sailing on a 38 foot yacht all on her lonesome around the world. Spending so much time on her own, cabin-fever kicks in and makes her start to loss her sanity. There's some great acting from Radha Mitchell that keeps you watching but this movie isn't original, you've seen it done before with The Shinning. I thought the ending was a bit of a let down, but don't let that put you off. If you haven't seen this movie before, definitely go check it out.
This is ALL region DVD and comes with a small amount of extras which include photo gallery, theatrical trailer of the movie and cast crew biographies but sadly there are no subtitles.

Stephen King's Silver Bullet on Blu-ray New from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review
What's the best werewolf movie of all time? people always seem to say An American Werewolf in London, The Howling or even Teen Wolf. Stephen King's Silver Bullet is one hell of underrated werewolf gem of a movie. Starring the late Corey Haim (The Lost Boys) Gary busey (Predator 2) and Everett McGill (The People Under the Stairs) In the small town of Taker's Mill there are a series of unexplained murders happing, so the residents of the town decide to take the law into their own hands and hunt down the killer. Thanks to the guys at Umbrella Entertainment we finally have a great HD treatment of the horror classic, Silver Bullet. I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid and i can always remember the custom wheelchair/motorcycle "Silver Bullet' built by Uncle Red (Gary busey) for a gift for the paraplegic boy Marty (Corey Haim) thinking it would be so cool to have one. This release is packed full of juicy extras you can sink your human teeth into. This is another region free release and looks and sounds great on Blu-ray, the cover art is by @Simonsherry which is receivable so you get to see the original artwork, the film does have English subtitles for the hearing impaired. Cat's Eye on Blu-Ray from umbrella Entertainment
Review...
Cat's Eye is an underrated 1985 anthology horror in the same lines as "Creepshow" and "Twilight Zone the movie." The film is directed by Cujo Director Lewis Teague and written by the king of Terror himself, Mr. Stephen King. It's about a stray cat that links three tales of horror, comedy and suspense into one film. The 1st film stars James Woods in "Quitters, Inc." the 2nd stars Robert Hays in "The Ledge" and the 3rd and the final film stars a very young Drew Barrymore in "General" .The film is 32 years old and looks great on Blu-ray with New artwork by @simonsherry, with a reversible cover with the original art.The Blu-Ray case is thicker and stronger than a USA case and has a nice and glossy finish. The Blu-ray extras include Interviews with actor Robert Hays who starred in the 2nd film "The Ledge" and Animal Trainer Teresa Ann Miller, her father Karl Lewis Miller trained "General" the cat for the movie, there were 12 cats in total used in the making of the film. Now, that's a lot of pussy for one man to handle! and a movie trailer. The only bad thing I say about this release is, it doesn't have director Lewis Teague's commentary like the USA release. apart from that, still great release.

Cannibal Apocalypse on DVD from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
A Nightmare on Elm Street's John Saxon (Norman Hopper) is a vietnam vet who gets bitten by P.O.W. who has been infected with a virus. A few years later Hopper is now back in Atlanta Georgia running from the law, thinking what happens in the jungle, stays in the jungle, the outbreak happens again, the zombie like cannibal virus infects the people of Atlanta making them crave the taste for yummy yummy flesh. The film is directed by Italian film director Antonio Margheriti and is a low-budget 1980 gory horror. Cannibal Apocalypse is not your typical cannibal movie, it tries to be something different. The movie is worth a watch if you like theses sort of movies, which I'm not really a fan of. The film is region free and looks great on DVD but there are no subtitles for the hearing impaired, the film is in 1080p widescreen and the audio 1.0 dual mono dolby. The DVD extras include trailers posters and gallery stills of the movie, plus filming locations of Cannibal Apocalypse. Now available from www.umbrellaent.com.au

Orca The Killer Whale on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
Everybody's heard of Steven Spielberg's Jaws, but have you heard of Orca The Killer Whale? The movie is directed by Logan's Run director Michael Anderson and stars the late Richard Harris (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) as Captain Nolan, Nolan kills a pregnant whale and the mate of the female seeks vengeance upon the captain.Due to it's similarities with the blockbuster hit Jaws, Orca The Killer Whale wasn't a big hit with the public and only received a small theatrical success, but through the years the movie has achieved cult status among fans of the creature feature. The film looks and sounds amazing for a 40 year old movie but it does show its age with flickering black dots throughout, but it doesn't spoil your viewing. The Blu-ray is a region free release and comes with English subtitles for the hearing impaired. The Blu-ray artwork is by @simonsherry and has a reversible sleeve so you don't have to see the big Australian classification rating.

First time on DVD is Happy Hunting from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
If you like your films violent, Happy Hunting is the film for you! An alcoholic drifter Warren Novak (Martin Dingle Wall) is minding his own business passing through a small redneck town called Bedford Flats, battling his demons from alcohol withdrawal, thing's take a turn for the worst when he must run for his life from the locals after becoming the target of a sporting event which involves hunting him. The movie is written and Directed by Joe Dietsch & Louie Gibson, Louie Gibson is the son of Mel Gibson, so if I'd never heard of this movie before, that would be one of the reason's why I would watch this film. There's nothing you haven't seen before but with a great cast makes you like this movie a little bit extra. This is low budget movie making at it's very best. When it comes to the special features, there isn't any. There's no subtitles or even a DVD menu. The film just play's straight away but the DVD is ALL region. Idle Hands on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
Idle Hands is about Anton Tobias. A 17 year old slacker who sits on his couch all day watching TV and smoking weed. On the morning of Halloween Anton discovers his parents have been brutally murdered and Anton's possessed hand did the deed. To stop the evil he must chop off his hand thinking it would stop the serial killer hand killing again but this only makes things worse, making the hand go on a killing spree with "nobody" to go with. The hand is played by Christopher Hart, he is most famous for playing the disembodied hand (Thing) in the 1991 movie The Addams Family. The movie stars Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Elden Henson, Jessica Alba, Vivica A. Fox and a great cameo from punk band The Offspring. This is just a fun 90s comic horror with plenty of laughs and gore. This is a much better release than Image Entertainment's 2013 bare bones Blu-ray. Umbrella Entertainment's release comes with the extras from the U.S DVD of Idle Hands, making this a much more worthy opponent. The cover is reversible so you get to see the original artwork and the New artwork by @simonsherry without the big Australian classification rating. The movie comes with English subtitles and is region free.

Dario Argento's Suspiria 40th Anniversary on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review
Unless you live under a rock, everybody knows Dario Argento's classic Suspiria. The Italian ultra gore gothic horror fest looks and sounds amazing for a 40 year old film, but the movie does look very outdated watching it today. The movie is sourced from a New 4K restoration with a brilliant score composed by the prog-rock band Goblin. The movie is dubbed in English which plays straight away, so no grabbing for your remote to change the Audio. You can also play the movie in Italian if you like. There's English and Italian subtitles for the hearing impaired but if you are anything like me, I always play my movies with the subs on. This region free Blu-ray release is packed full great extras including interviews with director Dario Argento and Nick Vivarelli on the 40th Anniversary of the movie, A 25th anniversary documentary of the movie, trailers, TV spot and much more! Another great horror release from Umbrella Entertainment. Night of the Living Dead on Blu-ray from Umbrella Entertainment
Review....
I'm not a big fan of horror remakes but Tom Savini's remake of George A. Romero's 1968 zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead does the job. Director Tom Savini is no stranger to the zombie genre, working on Romero's Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead as a special effects make-up artist and actor in Dawn. Savini brings more blood and gore to the movie and more of an undead look to the Zombies than the original. This release has a much better transfer than the Twilight Time release which is now OOP and very expensive to buy and there's no blue tint insight. It has a reversible cover with the original art and New artwork by @simonsherry. There is no big Australian classification printed on the cover of this release but there was a sticker on the case which i removed. The Blu-Ray case is thick strong and durable with a nice and glossy finish. Not like the USA cases which are thin and flimsy. The movie is region Free with English subtitles and some old and New extras. This is a treat for any zombie fan and another great release from Umbrella Entertainment. www.umbrellaent.com.au

The Devil's Rejects on Blu-ray New from Umbrella Entertainment.
Review...
This film needs no introductions! This is musician Rob Zombie's 2nd film as a movie Director and Bill Moseley's 2nd time playing the character Otis, first was House of 1000 Corpses. Bill Moseley deserved an Oscar for his performance as Otis in The Devil's Rejects, he made Charles Manson look like a choir boy. The film is 1 hour and 50 minutes of rude, crude and gruesomeness, with memorable and funny dialogue from Bill Moseley and Sid Haig characters, Captain Spaulding and Otis. This cult movie is full of people from other horror classics including Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead) Geoffrey Lewis (Salem's Lot) Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn) P.J. Soles (Halloween) Tom Towles (Night of the Living Dead) Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes)
The Blu-Ray is Region Free and can be played anywhere in the world. The film looks and sounds great in HD but does have a grainy look to the film which does add a 70s feel to the movie. The New release comes with all New cover art by @SimonSherry. The Blu-Ray case is strong and durable with a nice and glossy finish with a 15mm spine. Not like the USA cases which are thin and flimsy. The Blu-Ray comes with some great extras but I wish they came with subtitles cause in the Tribute to Matthew McGrory, when McGrory was talking he had such a deep voice I found it had to understand him but the movie does have English subs.
